nicholas way
senior public relations consultant
Nicholas joins Shed in its Melbourne office after more than three decades as a journalist working in Australia and Asia, as well as a short stint in stockbroking in the late 1980s. In that time he has covered politics, business, industrial relations and Asia, especially Hong Kong and China.
Nicholas began his career at the Hobart Mercury in 1974, and spent four years there before working on the Post Courier in Port Moresby for two years.
He came to Sydney in 1980 to work for AAP and then the Australian Financial Review before joining the business desk of the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong in 1983 for five years, a period that coincided with China’s opening to the world.
Returning to Perth, he joined the stockbroking firm Contilink before the siren call of journalism brought him to BRW in Melbourne in 1989, where, aside from two years at the Australian in the late 1990s, he has worked for the past 17 years.
Nicholas graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1973 with a bachelor of arts with honors in history.
