robert turner
public relations consultant
Robert heads up Shed’s Perth office, joining the firm two years ago after a career spanning more than 30 years in Australian journalism, in both major metropolitan and regional publications. He covered general news, finance, state politics and local government in a career that started with a cadetship in journalism in 1974 with Perth’s Sunday Independent.
He moved to Sydney to take a position with the Sun-Herald in the early 1980s before transferring to the Australian Financial Review, working there until he moved to Melbourne in 1989, where he worked for the financial trade magazines Money Management and New Accountant.
A move to the business pages of the Melbourne Herald Sun in 1991 saw him write the Insider column and report on daily finance issues in funds management, mining and corporate activities including coverage of annual general meetings, annual results and shareholder activism.
In 1996, he moved back to Western Australia, this time to the Busselton-Dunsborough-Margaret River area, in the state’s fast growing South West, where he worked on the Busselton Margaret Times newspaper until joining Shed in January, 2007.
